Sonora Hiring Event: Teaming up with Employers

Mother Lode Job Training and the City of Sonora co-hosted a successful hiring event on September 24th at the Opera Hall in downtown Sonora. This event featured 14 local employers from unique industries, with an additional display highlighting businesses who had asked to be at the event but couldn’t be due to the limited space available.

There were over 150 jobs available to pick from at the event! Laptops were provided to fill out job applications on site and many interviews were scheduled on the spot- streamlining the application process for both the employer and job seeker! Over 60 people attended, resulting in many job offers and interviews, as well as connections made with the potential for future employment opportunities.

Here’s some of the feedback we got from attendees!

When asked what they liked most about the Hiring Event on our survey:

The consensus: Participants are likely to attend another event with Mother Lode Job Training in the future!

We are currently planning another hiring event sometime in November, possibly at a bigger venue to feature more employers! Keep an eye out on our Facebook page facebook.com/MotherLodeJobs for the announcement or give us a call near the end of October for more details!
